Annual Jane Austen Student Essay Contest

Jane Austen Society of North America or JASNA with support from the Sonia Raiziss Giop Charitable Foundation announces the commencement of it's annual student Essay Contest for this year. The topic for the 2009 Essay contest revolves around the concept of sibling.

Siblings abound in Jane Austen’s novels. Some siblings act as foils to each other; others are in competition; still others are mutually supportive and encouraging. Examine the importance of siblings in one or two Austen novels. Discuss how they function in the novel and how they embody larger themes. You may focus on one sibling relationship or you may compare relationships, either within a novel or between two novels.

The contest is open to students world-wide (high school, college/university, and event post graduates). Participants need not to be a member of JASNA but must be enrolled during the contest year. Entries must be e-mailed or postmarked by May 1, 2009. Students interested in the life and works of Jane Austen are encouraged to join.

Greetings!

Good day Everyone. For the past few months i have been browsing and searching the internet for contests, promos, freebies, and other good stuff. I have to say it maybe a bit time consuming since a quick search for the word "contest" or "promos" would result to a thousand links. However, the overall experience was fun, especially that i have won on a few contests (but i haven't receive the prizes yet, hopefully i wasn't scammed). Seeing the amount of time i spend searching the internet for certain contests and competitions, i thought it is best that i help spread the news and information. It is like hitting two birds with one stone. Not only do i get the chance to join the contests but i am also sharing the information to other people who might be interested as well. So, after much deliberation i decided to put up Prize Central. I hope you guys will find it useful. Also please feel free to drop any comments, suggestions, or reactions. Thank you people.

P.S.
I cannot guarantee you that this will be updated everyday because the truth is i have alot of important (but obviously i'm not doing :( ) things to deal with as of the moment. But do stay tuned as i will try to update it every now and then.
